Planning a tribute show night
Timing, seats, access, cancellation and how to build a Pigeon Forge day around the tribute, from a coaster ride to a second, comedy tribute.
Check tribute dates ↗Quick answer
Book a date ahead, because shows are likely to sell out. On the night, arrive early: seating is general admission, and the best seats go first. Eat before or after, since the ticket includes no food. The show runs ninety minutes, the theatre is wheelchair accessible, and cancelling a GetYourGuide booking costs nothing until a day before.
Book the date first
Shows are likely to sell out, and a ticket bought ahead lets you skip the queue at the door. You can hold seats now and pay later, and a cancellation made a day or more ahead is refunded in full, so booking early carries no real risk. Choose the evening first, then fit dinner and the day around it.
Arrive early, arrive together
Unreserved seating is what shapes this night more than anything. With no numbers on the chairs, your place depends on your arrival. Travel as one group if you want one row, and if someone needs an aisle, a quick way out or space for a wheelchair, be at the front of the line. The time printed on the confirmation marks the first song, not the moment to set off.
Food, drink and parking
None of them are part of the ticket. Plan dinner for before or after the ninety minutes, and look at the parking options around the theatre's map pin before you set off. If you would rather have food and a show in one booking, the comparison guide sets the tribute against the town's dinner feud. Otherwise, an early dinner leaves the whole evening clear and takes the hurry out of finding a seat.
Getting there
From Sevierville or Gatlinburg, follow US 441, the Parkway, through the valley; the theatre's address is on your confirmation. The town's trolley-style buses also link the three towns and carry lifts for wheelchairs, but check their routes and hours before relying on them late in the evening.
An afternoon on the coaster
If the day needs something before the show, the Rocky Top mountain coaster is a short, outdoor counterweight. A mountain coaster is a ride whose carts run on rails down a hillside and cannot leave the track; on this one each rider controls the speed, and the track is lit for night rides. One ride is in the ticket. It is not for children under two, pregnant riders or anyone with back or heart problems, and riders need ID.
A second tribute, in a lighter key
Pigeon Forge also stages a tribute to Red Skelton, the entertainer best known for his radio and television shows between 1937 and 1971, who learned comedy and pantomime in a travelling medicine show from the age of ten. The show runs about an hour and three-quarters of clean, family-friendly comedy built on his characters and sketches, in a small theatre. Video and audio recording are not allowed. It makes a gentle second night for anyone who enjoyed the music tribute.
A sample day
Put together, a full day might run like this. Keep the order flexible: the only fixed point is the show's start time, and the earlier you reach the theatre, the more of the room you can choose from.
- Morning and early afternoon in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, a few miles south.
- A ride on the mountain coaster on the way back into town.
- An early dinner of your choice.
- The drive along the Parkway, with time to park.
- Doors, a seat of your choosing, and ninety minutes of the tribute.
Frequently asked questions
How early should I arrive?
Early enough to park and walk in before most of the audience. Seating is first come, so the earlier you arrive, the more choice you have.
Can the coaster and the tribute share one day?
Easily. A single coaster ride is short, so it fits into an afternoon before an evening at the theatre.
